Lovely Military Couples

We all know those military moments, you know...the ones where you've been waiting months to see your loved one; the ones where you FINALLY get that first kiss; the ones where you cry tears of joy. Pictures of military love capture so much emotion, so share pictures of you and your sweetheart, now! They can be of your wedding, engagement, homecomings, whatever flies your kite...just make sure it's military themed in some way, shape, or form. :) Also, everyone loves stories that make them go "awwwww" so we'd definitely like to hear how you met, got engaged, etc. Feel free to submit as many times as you'd like...just click the appropriate link above. :)
I'd like this blog to become sort of like a military s/o corner where we all go to meet new friends...or something along those lines. Click "Support Galore" up top or submit your own information in the ask box if you'd like to meet some awesome people.

Yesterday I married the love of my life. It was a small wedding (probably the smallest wedding in the history of weddings) but it was the most wonderful thing I have ever done in my life. We even accidentally added our own awkward moment to the ceremony by getting confused and saying “yes” instead of “I do”. It was more perfect than I ever imagined a wedding could be. People doubted us when they learned we were dating and Alisa was going off to boot camp in a matter of months. But I wrote her everyday and I was there for her graduation. During her boot leave we got engaged and knew we couldn’t wait much longer to finally get married. MCT was hard with no communication and MOS school has brought along it’s own struggles as well. It hasn’t been easy but when you have such an amazing person waiting for you at the end of the tunnel, it makes you want to keep moving forward. I will always stand by her no matter what happens. That girl is my best friend. I am nothing without her. Our journey has only just begun. Always and forever 💜

How often do soldiers (specifically MPs) get stationed out of the country right after graduation? Anyone please respond :-)

I answered:

There’s no set rate. Just depends on the needs of the branch.

Saying goodbye to my husband at the end of his R&R during his deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. Getting ready for deployment #2 now.

How do I submit a picture with the description? On my phone so if I gotta get on the laptop well I will :P

I answered:

I’ve never tried it. Does anyone know? If you don’t want to get on your laptop, you can just submit a picture and then send the description in a message and I will add it for you.

Hi, Do you have statistics about couples in Israeli army? How many people meet there and is it the biggest place to meet your spouse in Israel? Thanks, Felix

I answered:

No, sorry. Maybe you can Google it??? I wouldn’t know where else to start.

This is my boyfriend and me. Today (9-10-13) marks one full year of being together. It has not been an easy and smooth one year, but we have made it through some of the hardest struggles together. Ricky (my boyfriend) was a sniper in the US Army and had served 24+ months in the Iraqi war. We met early July 2012 online and found out he had just moved to my College town, we decided to meet up. The first day we met up, we had both by the end (thinking to ourselves) decided to never see/ talk to each other again. Let just say it was a terrible first impression, but something drew us back to each other. I am thankful that we gave it a second chance. He is the love of my life and we are going through a rough time. When he came back from the war, his PTSD was bad. We didn’t know it, but Louisiana had labled him 100% disabled, but they only told him he was 30%. so for over so many years he has struggled with no help and had to work through it all alone. We are now working with a new VA here in Arizona and they are helping us with the struggle to get him the 100% disability and all of the back pay (kinda like suing) that he is owed. We are also getting him help with his PTSD with tons of new meds, meetings, group and individual counseling. It’s tried our relationship for a few months and we aren’t getting anywhere fast, but we are trying our best and we know no matter what, if we keep in our minds that we love each other, that anything is possible and we are worth fighting for.

This is a picture of my husband and I after our first Marine ball. We met in high school, and he left for boot camp my senior year. We were engaged by the time he finished boot camp. We got married right before he got stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. Yes we were young, but here we are. He is my everything and I love him so much. I am very proud to be a Marine wife but especially his wife. He means everything to me and I don’t know what I would do without him.

We worked in the same shop and the same shift for about six months before we were involved. After two months of dating, he pcs'd to Korea. And it wasn't until the day he left that we made our relationship official. It's been five months since he left. I don't think I'll be able to see him for another ten months because I'm deploying in two. We're in love with each other. What are your opinions?

I answered:

Why do you need opinions? Sounds like a cute story. Love is always great. You don’t have to see each other everyday to be in a relationship.

My Boyfriend is in the military and I have been in love with him for almost seven years, but he just informed me the other day that he was going back :( I had to deal with it last year but I left which broke my heart now that he's going back which I promised to never leave him again....why does it kill me so bad that I'm not getting to talk to him..? What are some things I can do to get him off of my mind because I have tried everything..

I answered:

So you’re in love but want to get him off your mind? Or are you broken up now? I’m so confused. Just find a new hobby.

So, my best friend of 3 years is leaving in September for boot camp down south. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with him, and after he leaves, I feel like it will be too late to tell him.. Should I tell him how I feel a few days before or when he's about to leave?

I answered:

Don’t do anything that might be distracting, unless you know for a fact he feels the same way.

I really, really love your blog. It's so supportive to those who have loved ones overseas, and I absolutely love it. <3 Keep it up, lovely.

I answered:

Thanks.

I know soldiers over seas love to have home baked goods in their care packages :) Like cookies or brownies

I answered:

Very true.

However, you have to be careful with those and make sure they can stand the heat and don’t go bad. Avoiding certain ingredients while baking can help. They should also be sealed properly. There are lots of tips on google.

Also, they REALLY appreciate hygiene items and useful things like socks (you can never send too many socks), batteries, a fan, notepads, pens, and baby wipes. Baby wipes are a must because sometimes they can go days or weeks without showers.

Any care package ideas?

I answered:

You can send whatever you’d like. You don’t necessarily need to decorate the packages. But if you want to, a summer themed one could be fun to send now since there aren’t really any holidays and it’s summer. You can put snacks, water guns, a football, sunglasses, a beach ball, frisbees, and other similar items in it and decorate it in a way that represents summer.

You can pretty much do whatever you want. The ideas are endless. I’ve sent a summer box, Christmas box, birthday box, anniversary box, Halloween box, and just a plain box with favorite snacks. I always include letters in them too.
